1. What This Website Is

Butler County Criminal History is a private reference website that operates independently of government. It neither keeps official criminal records nor obtains official checks or files legal documents on a visitor's behalf.

Its role is to identify relevant record custodians, such as Butler County courts, local law-enforcement offices, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to outside search tools. Public-agency requests may be governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, but that law does not turn this private website into a government custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

• Violate any applicable local, Kentucky, or federal law
• Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate another person with information found here
• Use website content for lending, employment, housing, or insurance decisions
• Attempt to enter systems or areas without authorization
• Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
• Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information from this website or a linked service may be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. This restriction is especially important for Kentucky Sex Offender Registry data. KRS 17.580 makes specified registry information public for safety awareness and permits good-faith dissemination, while KRS 525.070 and 525.080 address harassment and harassing communications. Registry information is not an invitation to punish, confront, blacklist, or exclude a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Butler County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, background check, or other consumer report. Neither the website nor its advertising partners supplies a service intended to assess applicants, borrowers, insured persons, or renters. You must not use information from these pages or a linked tool to:

• Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
• Evaluate a renter or housing application
• Assess credit or establish an insurance rate
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When an official-purpose check is required, follow the instructions of the requesting authority and the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, or use a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Butler County charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement law affects a particular person. Advice about an individual matter should come from a Kentucky-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

• Information will always be accurate, complete, or current
• The website will remain available without interruption
• Every page will be free from errors or security flaws
• An outside search provider's results will be complete or correctly matched

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Delays and gaps can occur. Website content is not an official statement from a Butler County court, sheriff, Kentucky agency, or other government office.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, the text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Butler County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the broadest extent allowed by law, we will not be responsible for any damages arising from use of the website, including reliance on material found here or through an outside service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, proceedings, or demands caused by your use of the website or your breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

Kentucky law governs these terms. A dispute arising from website use must be brought in a court located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
